Less than a year after 25 May 2018, the day on which the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force, only a quarter of Austrian companies have fully implemented the requirements of the EU Regulation; twelve percent are only at the beginning. Now, however, the DSB is issuing decisions and recommendations on a wide variety of data protection issues at ever shorter intervals and it remains to be seen whether the official review procedures will increase as of 2019. For this reason, data protection is less of a “nightmare” but is becoming more and more present in practice. This article contains an overview of topics that should lead to an update of the data protection documentation in your company or your medical practice.<\/p>\n\n
